Partner with First Learning

first-learningFirst Learning, a new CMHA initiative, will support successful early childhood education for children.

The initiative will begin as a pilot in the Millvale and Sutterview communities during late Summer. The two CMHA sites were selected because more than 400 families with children ages 1 to 5 live in them. First Learning will work in partnership with daycare centers, preschool programs and Head Start programs to promote core educational components like:

  • Teaching parents the learning stages of development
  • Fostering intense parent engagement in their child's learning
  • Providing Alpha Phonics training for parents and children
  • Committing to frequently evaluate and assess children
